Host a Portrait Party:

Portrait Parties are a fun opportunity to capture beautiful, professional images of your children. The session fee is ONLY $35 ! The event takes place at your home, where the children are comfortable and natural.

As Host, you will invite 5-12 guests and their children to the event. The host will not be required to pay a session fee, will recieve a complimentary 8x10 portrait and 15% of the party sales will go towards portrait rewards. You, and each guest family, will be scheduled for a 20-minute photography session. In that time period, I will capture 10-15 images of your child(ren). During each guest’s 20 minute session, images of groups, individuals or a combination of both can be taken.

After each session, guests can stay and visit with the hostess and her other friends—or not. There will be no sales made at the party and no pressure. Just have fun!

What are my obligations as the host/hostess?

All you need is a room in your home with large windows that gets a lot of natural light. (Or a nice outdoor area). The room itself does not have to be very big. You will also want another room available for visiting with your guests after the sessions.

You will be required to invite a minimum of 5 guests to participate in the event, with a maximum of 12 guests. I recommend providing a few hors’doevres for your guests. You may plan your event on any day of the week. Your guest’s photography sessions should be scheduled 20 minutes apart. Try to eliminate gaps in the session schedule (sessions should run consecutively). Your guests are not required to stay for the duration of the party. I will provide invitations and envelopes for you to fill out and mail (email invitations are also available). I will arrive 1-2 hours before the event to set up the session area. It is best for the session area to be located in a room away from the rest of the party (prevents the children from being distracted).

When the proofs from the Party are posted online, Hostesses should contact each guest and let them know their images are available for viewing and remind them of the 14-day deadline. Samples of portraits and available items will be available for viewing at the time of the sessions. All completed portrait orders will be delivered to the party hostess. When the prints are ready, you will be responsible for delivering them to your guests.

What is a Portrait Party?

A portrait party is an event in your home where I come to you to take professional portraits for you and your friends in mini-sessions. Photos can be of adults, families, children….whomever, but they will have a time limit to approximately 20 minutes each. No selling will occur at the party. You and your friends will just get together, have some light refreshments and enjoy visiting and having your pictures made.

How many people do I need to invite to my party?

I will provide you with invitations to invite up to 12 families. I require at least 5 guests/mini-sessions to award hostess benefits, so you should over-invite to ensure you have enough guests. You need to choose the date, collect the session fees and schedule the appointment.

What are the charges for my guests?

The session fee is ONLY $35 for your guests to have their portraits taken. No selling will occur at the time of the party. All proofs will be available for viewing online within 3 business days of the party. There will be between 10 -15 proofs to view for each mini-session. Galleries will be available for 14 days. All orders for prints and/or specialty items will need to be placed within 14 days of the party to count toward the hostess benefits.

What are the benefits to hosting a Portrait Party?

When you host a portrait party and have 5 or more guests, you will not be required to pay the session fee. In addition, you will receive a free 8x10 of your choice as well as 15% of the total party sales in portrait rewards. You can earn additional rewards if your guests decide to book a full portrait session or portrait party of their own.

Guest Information:
Guests can either arrive 10 minutes prior to their scheduled session or stay for the entire party.
During your 20-minute session images of groups, individuals or a combination of both are possible. You may want to include yourself in the photographs. When your reserved time arrives, please bring only your children being photographed into the session area. The portraits will be placed in an online gallery for viewing/ordering within 3-5 days of the Portrait Party. I will let your host know as soon as they are ready to be viewed. Your proofs will be online for a period of 14 days. Your host has been gracious in her arrangements for this event, so please place your order within the 14 days they are online.
Your hostess will be collecting all orders and distributing the prints to you when they are ready (2 weeks after the total order is submitted). Thank you for the opportunity you have given me to create great images from your life.

Portrait Party Policies
There are no guarantees, no reshoots, and no obligation to purchase anything. Print or Specialty Item orders do not qualify for any other discounts or coupons. Each family gets approximately 20 minutes. Mixed group poses are available. Please bring only individuals that are being photographed. Approximately 10 -15 proofs (per family) will be available for review in an online gallery. Proofs will be available for review and ordering within one week. All late orders (beyond 14 days) or subsequent orders will not go toward the commission to the Hostess.
